Management 

Scott Cathcart – A seasoned marketing executive and entrepreneur, Scott has 20 years of experience in incubating, building and managing successful businesses and brands.  Scott founded Veristeel on the premise that more buildings could be built with greater quality, and more cost-effectively, by combining new construction technologies with automated manufacturing principles. He acquired an early passion for revolutionary product development during a prior career as an advertising agency executive, where he was instrumental in the marketing of the Gillette SensorExcel razor in the US, Canada, and 17 European markets, and where he developed the multi-national strategic positioning platform for the Gillette Mach3.  Scott has served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Modular Building Institute, and as a member of the advisory board of the Gift Planning Council for the University of Virginia.  Scott received his B.A. from the University of Virginia.

Jonathan Sandifer
– An experienced finance, accounting, and operations executive with a history of creating efficient business processes, accurate accounting, and timely access to information for growing entrepreneurial companies in various industries including manufacturing, software, retail, and financial services.  Jonathan also has an extensive background in the development, implementation, and integration of business information systems. Jonathan obtained his BS in Business Administration from the College of Charleston.

Matt Banes – A 20 year veteran of the commercial modular building industry, Matt brings in-depth market knowledge and strategic resources to Veristeel. Early in his career, Matt spent 9 years with modular building industry leader Williams Scotsman, now part of Algeco Scotsman, where he was recognized in 1997 and 1998 as the company's top sales and leasing representative nationally. Following Williams Scotsman, Matt spent 10 years with GBM Marketing, a sales, marketing and product development consulting firm specializing in building design and construction management, with an emphasis on K-12, public and private education facilities. At GBM Matt managed the firm's top-tier consulting accounts and was credited with launching iGreenBuild.com and SchoolFacilities.com, two industry-leading online publications.

Chris Ransel – A forward-thinking innovator in composite technologies, Chris is credited with leading the engineering of Veristeel's patented VeriClad and RD FlexMod structural building products. In 2007, he secured International Code Council (ICC - ES) certification for VeriClad insulated floor and roof panels, clearing the path for architects and engineers to design and build using the product in the United States and abroad. Chris oversees the firm's North Las Vegas production facility, and he holds both a B.S. and an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Nevada Las Vegas. 

Advisory Board

Paul K. Carlton, Jr.Lt. General, USAF (Ret.), Surgeon General, USAF (Ret.); Director, Homeland Security, Texas A&M Health Science Center - Paul K. Carlton, Jr. received his bachelor of science degree from the U.S. Air Force Academy in 1969 and his doctor of medicine from the University of Colorado in 1973. Dr. Carlton serves as Director of the Office of Homeland Security for the Texas A&M Health Science Center. He joined the Texas A&M faculty in November of 2002. Dr. Carlton served as the surgeon general of the Air Force from 1999 to 2002.

As the surgeon general of the Air Force, he served as functional manager of the U.S. Air Force Medical Service. He had authority to commit resources worldwide for the Air Force Medical Service to make decisions affecting the delivery of medical services and to develop plans, programs and procedures to support peacetime and wartime medical service missions. Dr. Carlton is a fellow and former Air Force governor of the American College of Surgeons. He was named a consultant in general surgery to the Air Force surgeon general in 1981. He conceptualized and implemented the first Air Force rapid-response surgical team in Europe – the flying ambulance surgical trauma team. During Operation Desert Storm, he commanded the 1702nd Air Refueling Wing Contingency Hospital, completing 32 combat support missions and 140 combat flying hours in the C-21, C-130, KC-10 and KC-135. He has published extensively in medical literature. He is an 11,000 case surgeon who continues to “wash his hands” whenever he can.

Anderson Anderson Architecture – A very highly-respected, award-winning design firm, AAA has extensive experience in a broad range of project types, with particular expertise in design projects utilizing Veristeel building systems. Partners Mark Anderson and Peter Anderson started the firm as a design-build construction company in 1984. With a strong foundation in the practical aspects of construction, AAA has since grown into a diverse, globally-capable architecture firm with extensive international experience in prefabricated construction technology. In 2007, Princeton Architectural Press published a monograph covering their 20 years of work in this area, titled Prefab Prototypes: Site Specific Design for Offsite Construction.  In recent years, the firm has been recognized as a leader in the implementation of Building Information Modeling technology, Integrated Project Delivery, and sustainable design strategies into a wide range of technically complex projects, including a technology gallery and customer briefing center space for software giant Autodesk's global headquarters in San Francisco that has been given a LEED Platinum rating by the U.S. Green Building Council.

As a practice, AAA collaborates closely with owners, manufacturers, contractors, and other construction professionals throughout the full design/fabricate/build sequence to provide clients with design excellence, high-quality implementation strategies, and experienced representation of owners' interests. Mark and Peter work closely with their design staff to function as the lead designers, integrating with their collaborators and Veristeel's customers to deliver exceptional end results.  Mark and Peter both received their Master of Architecture degrees from Harvard University, and have undergraduate degrees in history, languages, and international studies from Pacific Lutheran University.
